Journey by Bus
(297 words, 7 paragraphs, 23 lines)
Introduction: Now-a-days, a journey by bus is very common in our country. Often a bus journey is found troublesome.
Occasion: It was the marriage ceremony of one of my maternal uncles held during our last Summer Vacation. The house of the bride's father was at Mollahat about sixty miles away from Barisal.
The arrangement of the journey: My elder brother-in-law was given the responsibility of planning. Two buses were hired. The cars were beautifully decorated. I got into the front bus with the bridegroom.
The beginning of the journey: We started for Mollahat on 15. 4. 20 at 8 a. m. from Rahman Manzil, BSIC Road Barisal.
Description: I enjoyed the beauty of the green fields on both the sides of the streets. Our buses ran and ran. At a time it began running through a forest. The tall trees with green leaves overhead gave a nice view. It filled my heart with great joy. The forest road was soon over and the buses began running along the road across the open fields. When our bus was running quickly, a truck came from the opposite direction. It was about to collide our front bus. But our driver stopped the bus with a sudden break. We had a rare escape.
Destination and reception: It was evening. The sun was going down. The cowboys were walking homeward with their cattle. The farmers were returning home with their ploughs and bullocks. The last rays of the setting sun fell one the green fields. I was beside myself with joy at this beautiful sight. At about 8 a. m. we reached the house of the bride's father. There, all of them received us cordially.
Conclusion: It was a pleasant journey by bus. It will remain fresh in my mind for ever.
