The Annual Sports Day of Our School

The annual sports day is a happy occasion to the students, teachers and guardians. The annual sports day of our school was 10th March 2020. We observed the day amidst joy and merriment.
On this occasion the school campus and the surroundings of the playground were decorated with colorful papers and festoons. A gate was erected nicely to welcome the chief guest and other elite persons. Outside the playground, a Shamiana was set up and adequate seating arrangements were made under it for the invited guests and guardians. A band party was also hired to make the sports attractive. The sports started punctually at 9:30 am with the hoisting of the national flag and the flying of the pigeons. After this, the march past of the participants took place. The DC of Dhaka, who was the chief guest, took the salute.
There were as many as thirty-four events including different kinds of races and jumps. About two hundred students participated in the events. Among the events sack race and three-legged race were very interesting and they made us all laugh. The dress as you like and the tug of war between the students and teachers gave us the greatest amusement.
At the end of the events the chief guest made a short speech on the importance and utility of games and sports in our life. Then he gave away the prizes among the winners.
After the distribution of the prizes our headmaster gave a vote of thanks to all who attended the function and to others who worked hard for the success of the function. Thus the function came to an end. I got two prizes. It was indeed, a happy occasion for me.
